The execution

The customer competition run. The first two were badged “F40 LM”; the remaining eight became “Competizione” once Ferrari felt the LM tag too restrictive.

Ten cars to near-LM specification for private teams, at about 700 PS at 8,100 rpm. Chassis histories vary widely — one, 80782, was later rebuilt as a Nardò-grey one-off — which is why documented provenance moves these cars more than any headline figure.
