The execution
The low-drag long tail for the Mulsanne — 386 km/h in 1971, the fastest thing Le Mans had seen. It never won there; the K did the winning.
Developed with Robert Choulet of SERA for outright speed: enclosed rear arches, a tapering tail, lift kept in check just enough. Jackie Oliver’s 3:13.6 lap of 1971 stood until 2008. The Martini “Hippie” car finished second overall in 1970 and remains the only complete LH the works ever sold.
