997 GT3 RS 4.0

Four litres, six gears

The RS 4.0 closed the 997 programme with the largest naturally aspirated engine yet fitted to a production 911 and a manual gearbox as the only choice. Porsche built 600, not 500; numbered plaques verify the total.

How to read this forecast

P50 is the model median. The outer shading spans P10–P90; the darker band spans P25–P75. These are model quantiles, not verified probabilities or observed sale prices. The calculation extends the modeled trend and volatility; it does not include new listings, vehicle condition or transaction costs.

Later low-mileage European results and the small 600-car population support a higher indicative band, but paint originality, over-rev data, mileage and US delivery status remain material.

Overview

The 997 left through the motorsport door

The second-generation 997 GT3 RS already used a 3.8-litre version of the Mezger-family flat-six. For the final model, Porsche stretched capacity to four litres and restarted engine production around race-derived internal components.

The RS 4.0 arrived in 2011 with 500 PS, a six-speed manual, carbon front body panels and the most aggressive factory aero package yet fitted to a road-going 997.

Six hundred numbered cars were built. The combination of one model year, two standard exterior colours and a fixed manual drivetrain keeps the comparison set narrow, but mileage, over-rev data and repaint history still change the market result.
